What is DTF Printing (Direct to Film Printing)?

DTF Printing is the use of printers to print suitable ink onto Film for the purposes of transferring onto garments via the use of a heat press. The ink used is very long lasting, doesn’t crack or fall off for a very long time (Normally up to 2 years).

DTF (Direct to Film) printing has taken over from DTG (Direct to Garment) printing due to the reduced production time, longer lasting properties and cost of production. Most items in retail stores are now produced using DTF printing methods.

One of the biggest benefits of DTF printing is that anyone with a heat press can utilise DTF printing methods as the rolls can be sent in the post cured and ready to press.

DTF Printing is not only a self supply model but a wholesale printing opportunity.

Is DTF (Direct to Film) Printing for me?

DTF Printing is a frustrating printing method as per all printing methods. Problems will occur and with the use of white ink, it will be more frequent than other printing methods like sublimation.

Before you get started in DTF printing, we suggest that you use a printing service, like ours (click here) to understand the method of application, design and learn initially.

To start DTF we suggest that you have a lot of experience in Sublimation, Eco Solvent or other printing methods that require the use and understanding of printers, their basic operation and design and overcoming issues.

If you have printing experience, are not easily frustrated, we highly suggest this printing methos as the return on investment for both time and money are highly rewarding.
